Mid/Senior .NET Engineer

YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO SOMETHING BIG:

You will join the Engineering team that is part of the Professional Information Business (PIB / B2B) product line within Dow Jones, and will be working on creating and deploying micro-services hosted on a Service Mesh on AWS. The team projects are using edge technologies, including but not limited to:

  • C# .NET with frameworks up to .NET Core 3.1 and .NET 5
  • Cloud with AWS
  • Micro-services on a Service Mesh using Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Istio, Envoy, Jaeger, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • RESTful APIs following JSON:API standard
  • Multi-region, multi-environment CI/CD using Jenkins, Terraform, Chef and supporting Disaster Recovery
  • MS SQL Server, MySQL/Aurora, DynamoDB
  • Unit tests with nUnit/Moq, Integration Tests, BDD
  • Source Control with Git & GitFlow
  • Site Reliability Engineering - Logging, Monitoring, Alerting
  • Agile development following SCRUM methodology

OUR IDEAL TEAMMATE HAS/IS:

  • Microsoft .NET developer experienced in building high-performance client/server and web applications
  • Experience in RESTful API development & support
  • Experience with JSON and XML data interchange formats. XSL and XSLT are a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including experience with stored procedures, triggers, functions, and TSQL
  • Strong Object-Oriented Design and Programming skills for designing, building and maintaining clean, readable, efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code
  • Hands-on application troubleshooting and debugging skills, including using tools such as Visual Studio debugger
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and programming skills, with high responsibility and care of the details. Need to get a clear understanding of the requirements and work with the business to implement best possible solutions
  • Initiative person with a positive mindset, creative thinking, adaptive to workflow changes and with a strive to keep his/her expertise up-to-date
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant field and fluent English
