Technical Support Engineer (Remote)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are looking for a motivated and driven individual who can work at pace in a dynamic environment. Someone ready to collaborate, support team members while learning new skills at the same time. Intelligence, focus, drive, and intense problem-solving capability are all required! In this role there are a variety of customers and opportunities to contribute. You will be our first dedicated product support person.  The role will require interacting directly with internal customers, active collaboration with development team, establishing root cause of issues down to code level and where possible make proposals to development for how to fix.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO SOMETHING BIG:

  • Act as a bridge between real-world operations (focused on today) and software world (focused on longer term strategic objectives)
  • Translate customer issues from email and other unstructured forms into concise and precise JIRA tickets
  • Install and maintain environments for re-creating customer problems
  • Reproduce customer problems in a support environment
  • Stepping through code, reviewing logs and analysing stack traces
  • Understand impact of issues on customer and business
  • Work with rest of team to prioritise issues and use JIRA to manage priorities in a structured way
  • Test fixes and work with team to manage deployment of fixes to customer environment
  • Educate users on information needed for specific issues and help them where they are stuck
  • Educate users where they are making mistakes or being inefficient – take responsibility for raising everyone’s game
  • Help establish SLAs and support processes, then help enforce from both sides

OUR IDEAL TEAMMATE HAS:

  • 2+ years of working in a product support role with the technologies above
  • Knowledge in Asp.Net MVC, Asp.Net WebForms, jQuery, MSSQL, Entity Framework, and MongoDB
  • Working with development tools like Visual Studio and MSSQL Management Studio
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for problems that span multiple domains (applications, network, system, hardware)
  • Fluent spoken and written English

BONUS/BROWNIE POINTS:

  • Knowledge in Selenium, Azure, Knockout JS is considered a plus
  • Prior experience with Confluence
  • Results and customer orientated
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • University degree in IT or related field
