THE ROLE:
- We are looking for a back-end engineer to join our growing product team.
- Reporting to our VP Data & Tech, the ideal candidate will have a strong background developing ETL pipelines using Python and will further develop our in-house ETL and visualisation platform.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO SOMETHING BIG:
- Work closely with the team to design and improve our “Seer” infrastructure
- Expand our existing codebase to enhance the scalability, robustness and security of a full-stack ETL pipeline
- Develop new API connectors to fetch data from external sources
- Increase the performance of message queues, job scheduling and payload delivery
- Identify system bottlenecks and engineering neat solutions to increase speed
- Build and test code using infrastructure as code
- Document all processes, connectors & data sources
OUR IDEAL TEAMMATE HAS/IS:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Python developer
- DevOps knowledge, including Git, AWS, Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of how to build and test code using CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB or DocumentDB
- Experience deploying environments using Terraform
- Comfortable writing unit/automated tests
- Ability to produce quality documentation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Thirst for knowledge, smart attitude, and passion for technology
