THE ROLE:

• You will be joining Funding Circle’s newly formed Machine Learning and AI team composed of Data Scientists, ML Engineers and ML Ops Engineers.
• We firmly believe that data is our key asset and that everyone across the organisation has a part to play in making sure that we look after it, allowing us to better support our customers. Our central data team lives in our Tech org and reports to the VP of Data.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, product managers, and software engineers, to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions that align with business objectives.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO SOMETHING BIG:

• Design and implement the infrastructure required to support our ML driven applications
• Design, develop, and maintain a robust and scalable ML Ops Platform to support the deployment and management of ML applications. Build infrastructure that enables efficient and reliable operations
• Develop and implement tools and automation scripts for the deployment, monitoring, and scaling of ML models and applications. Focus on building repeatable processes to streamline workflows
• Implement containerization solutions (e.g.,Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) to enable the seamless deployment and scaling of ML applications
• Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, validation, and deployment of ML models. Ensure a reliable and efficient release process
• Implement Infrastructure as Code practices to automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components supporting ML and advanced analytics applications
• Develop and maintain effective monitoring and logging solutions for ML Ops, ensuring real-time visibility into the performance and health of deployed applications. Respond to incidents promptly
• Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices for securing infrastructure. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and policies
• Create comprehensive documentation for ML Ops processes, platform architecture, and tooling to facilitate knowledge transfer and onboarding of team members
• Actively contribute to the team's knowledge base through knowledge sharing and mentorship

OUR IDEAL TEAMMATE HAS/IS:

• Proven experience in ML Ops or a related role, with a focus on building and maintaining platforms for machine learning applications
• Strong background in designing and developing application platforms in the cloud. Experience with one of the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience configuring or managing services and tools for the ML stack is an advantage (AWS SageMaker, Kubeflow, MLFlow)
• Proficient in developing automation scripts and tools to streamline ML Ops workflows and ensure repeatability. Software and application development experience is an advantage
• An understanding of how platforms and tools can be used to support experimentation and innovation
• An understanding of the different ways analytics and ML applications can be deployed (streaming, request/response, batch processing)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices and tools for automating the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components. Knowledge of Terraform or AWS CDK is an advantage
• Experience configuring and using one or more CI/CD tools (e.g Jenkins, Drone, Circle CI, Github Actions …) and a strong understanding of benefits of such tools
• Practical mindset with a focus on team outcomes. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new tools and methodologies
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Effective communication skills
