Questers and Begach Running Club are happy to announce The Big Tech Run 2017. With the second edition of the marathon, the number of initiatives it supports is going bigger and the funds raised from this year’s race will help not one but two education-related causes of Teach for Bulgaria and Education without Backpacks, both aiming at creating equal educational opportunities for every child in the country.

Teach for Bulgaria is a non-for-profit organization, part of the global Teach for All network. The organization is devoted to the mission every child in Bulgaria to have equal access to quality education. In order to accomplish its mission, Teach for Bulgaria attracts, trains and supports motivated professionals to become teachers and create positive change in the educational system. The amount donaited from The Big Tech Run 2017 will be invested in developing the training courses for young professionals, individual coaching and for creating financial stimuli for the teachers.

Education without Backpacks is aiming to assist the modernization of Bulgarian educational system and the creation of alternative educational and cultural resources. Currently, the organization’s main project is the translation, popularization and real-life application of the largest online portal for education in the world: Khan Academy. The funds raised during this year’s marathon will be used for creating new content in Bulgarian in physics, chemistry, healthcare and medicine. is a joint initiative by Questers and Begach Running Club meant for professionals working in the tech, science, finance and media sectors in Bulgaria. The TechRun Championship consists of 5 races: Pancharevo Trail Marathon, Kalandja Marathon, Postbank Business Run, Renault Morning Run and The Big Tech Run which will be the official end of the championship. The race will take place on 19th November in Sofia Tech Park. The participants will be able to compete in either 5 or 10 km distance and in the end individual and team winners will be awarded.
