QuizIT, the new joint initiative of Questers and Teach for Bulgaria gathered more than 80 professionals from the IT sector for a charity quiz night. During the event participants eagerly raised 1500 BGN and another 2000 BGN were donated by Questers in support of the NGO’s cause to provide equal access to quality education to every Bulgarian child. The money collected will cover the monthly pay of one teacher for seven months.
The fun event took place on 16th of March in betahouse Sofia and was inspired by the previous editions of the Questers’ internal Charity Pub Quiz. QuizIT’s main goals are to popularise Teach for Bulgaria’s cause amongst other tech companies and their employees and to encourage them support it while having fun. Questions covered various areas like sports, music, science and education. Of course, plenty of prizes were given both to the winner and the lucky ones in the audience.

The organisation trains and supports exceptionally capable specialists from different sectors to become teachers in Bulgarian schools for a period of two years and long-term supporters of its cause. The programme is aiming to fill the vast gaps the students struggle with and at the same time help them master the academic and everyday skills required for success. In the line of the work, teachers develop leadership skills and come to know the challenges the Bulgarian education system faces.
