THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly qualified and talented technologist to join us as a member of our Infrastructure Engineering team. The team is responsible for the architecture, design, administration, and support of our global infrastructure. You will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, have confidence making critical decisions and work as part of a highly technical, global team.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO SOMETHING BIG:
- Designing and implementing the Linux and Windows server solutions
- Designing and implementing storage and cloud solutions
- Consulting with Portfolio Managers to gather requirements
- Helping with the automation of system administration tasks
- Evaluating new technologies to improve performance, reliability, and scalability of systems
- Documenting processes and procedures for support staff
- Working hours covering UK time difference
OUR IDEAL TEAMMATE HAS/IS:
- In-depth Linux engineering experience, including performance tuning, stability (RedHat / Ubuntu)
- Experience using configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef preferred)
- Virtualization experience using VMware
- Advanced scripting skills (Bash, Python)
- NFS (Network File System) infrastructure experience
- Experience with storage systems
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership, with a track record of delivering results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with an aptitude towards client service
- Positive mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a global team
BROWNIE POINTS:
- Cloud architecture and administration experience, preferably in AWS
- Experience using DevOps technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes
- Enjoys working with low latency systems
- Experience working with GPFS
